New Outdoor Gym for Wheaton Aston

💪🌳 Exciting news for Marston Field, Wheaton Aston! 🌳💪
Work to install a new outdoor gym at Marston Field play area has commenced, with completion due in the next few weeks!
This fantastic addition is made possible thanks to grant funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This is a UK Government fund designed to improve pride in place and life chances, with very specific criteria to award funding. In this case, the funding we secured was focused on supporting health and wellbeing, which is why it is being used for the outdoor gym.
We know many of you are keen to see progress on replacement play equipment and the pump track too. Please be assured that plans for these are still in progress. When we surveyed residents, you told us that the outdoor gym and pump track were your top priorities, and we are working hard to deliver both as soon as we can.
However, we must apply for separate pockets of funding as and when they become available, and each grant comes with strict rules about what it can be spent on. This can sometimes make improvements seem out of order – but it’s the only way to keep moving forward. Please be assured that we remain ambitious for Marston Field and its future.
The new outdoor gym equipment has been selected directly in response to resident feedback and is high-quality equipment, similar to what you’d expect to find in an indoor gym. We’re also installing a wider track around the field to support running and cycling as part of a broader fitness trail.
