Severn Trent works update July 2026
Severn Trent continue works in the Parish and will be spending approx 4 weeks in Lapley. During this period there will be road closures, residents and emergency vehicles will always have access.

There are currently three teams working in the area.
1. Wheaton Aston Pipelines – Cul-de-sac Works
Letters have been sent to all residents and businesses affected by these works.
2. Bickford Close
Works commenced on 29 June and are scheduled to last for four weeks.
Text messages have been sent to all residents living within the cul-de-sac.
3. Wheaton Aston – Lapley Phase 6
Works are due to commence on 1 July and are expected to continue for 12 weeks. The road will be closed in sections as the work progresses along the stretch, rather than being closed in its entirety at once. A diversion route will be in place throughout the duration of the works.
Please note that if emergency vehicles require access, or if there are any large deliveries, we will accommodate these requests as quickly as possible.
Update on the water pipe replacement in Wheaton Ashton
As part of a major replumbing to the water network across our Central region, we’re replacing old water pipes in Wheaton Ashton This essential work is part of our huge investment in the Midlands to reduce the risk of leaks and bursts, improve reliability, and ensure your water supply stays strong for generations to come.
You may have seen our team in the area replacing the water pipes as part of this major upgrade. The team have been on site since March 2026 and have replaced 1003m of pipe.
We are now ready to move to the next phase of works.
Where and when we’ll be working
The team will be working from Wednesday 1st July, from Lapley to Church Eaton, Stretton Road, Wenlock Bank and Church Lane for approximately 12 weeks.
During this period, road closures will be in operation – access will be maintained for residents who live within the closures.

Will my water supply be affected?
If we plan to interrupt your water supply, we’ll notify you in advance with a card posted through your door letting you know the date, earliest start time and the latest end time that your water will be interrupted. We’ll be doing our best to make sure your water supply is unaffected for the duration of our work.
During or after the work, there’s a small chance your water may appear discoloured. This is nothing to worry about and will quickly go back to normal. We’ll be doing our best to make sure your water supply is unaffected for the duration of our work.
