🚗 Traffic Speeds on Ivetsey Road – Community Update

We’ve recently reviewed speed data collected between 1 April and 23 July 2026, covering a total of 54,253 vehicles.

Here’s what the data shows:

Average speed: 38 mph
85% of drivers (V85): at or below 42 mph
Maximum recorded speed: 72 mph

The majority of drivers are travelling at or near the speed limit of 40mph, and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone doing their part to keep this road safe 👍

However, the data also shows that some vehicles are travelling significantly faster — with a top speed of 72 mph recorded. Speeds at this level greatly increase the risk of serious accidents and fatalities, and reduce reaction time for both drivers and others using the road.

This road is used not just by vehicles, but also by pedestrians, cyclists, and horse riders
Higher speeds make it harder to stop safely and avoid hazards
Even small reductions in speed can make a big difference in safety
