Huw Jones
Councillor since July 2026
Area: Stretton
Apart from a two-year gap, Huw and his wife, Louise, have lived in Wheaton Aston since 2003.
He rejoined the Parish Council in 2026 when a casual vacancy arose for the Stretton ward, having several years of previous parish councillor experience, only standing down because a change of job meant he was working evenings and was no longer able to attend meetings.
Huw is a paramedic, and works at a nearby GP surgery while studying towards his Master’s degree in Advanced
Clinical Practice.
Huw was instrumental in getting the village’s Community First Responder scheme started in the mid-2000s, and currently volunteers with our Community Speedwatch scheme, at Brighter Days Rescue in Lapley, as a driver for Cuan Wildlife Rescue in Much Wenlock and on the Patient Participation Group committee for Brewood Medical Practice.
