Lapley, Stretton & Wheaton Aston Parish Council is the first tier of local government. The parish is also served by South Staffordshire District Council, Staffordshire County Council and of course Central Government.
All full parish council meetings are open to the public and there is a public participation session at the beginning of each meeting when any member of the public may raise an issue or ask the council a question. After public participation, members of the public are welcome to remain and observe but they not permitted take part in the formal meeting.
As a local authority, the parish council has a number of duties that it must fulfil as well as powers given to it by various pieces of legislation.
