Best Kept Village Competition 2026

The Best Kept Village & Community Awards aims to develop and highlight a sense of pride amongst local people in Staffordshire . 70% of the judging marks come from the general community spirit amongst its residents, its general maintenance and appearance. This is judged from the entry form and supporting documents which are submitted, and from an in-person visit from the judging team.30% of the total points available will be awarded for demonstrating inclusivity, year-round : events; clubs; and community cohesion.

 

Outdoor Gym Equipment Consultation

Our outdoor gym equipment survey is now live and will run for the next few weeks until the end of March.
If you would like to join our focus group to help us explore the equipment options, please get in touch [email protected]
We are considering equipment for a range of ages to use, including accessible equipment, and a Stay Fit range for seniors to be active for longer.
Other surveys will be out in due course for the new play equipment (and a new zip wire) and we are still planning a bike pump track based on your responses to our earlier survey. We understand that not all residents would use an outdoor gym, however we have had significant feedback from residents who have said that they would use these facilities and this survey is aimed at potential users to be sure we get the equipment right. Thank you.

Annual Meeting of Electors

All residents are invited to attend our annual meeting of electors on Thursday, 23rd May 2024. 6.30pm at Lapley and Wheaton Aston Village Hall.

Christmas Lights Switch On

Our annual Christmas Lights Switch On is on Saturday, 18th November from 3pm in Wheaton Aston. Join us as we mark the start of the holiday season, with a range of stalls, entertainment, Church activities and Wildwood Alpacas.

King Charles III Coronation

 

LSWA PC are hosting the Big Coronation Lunch at the green in Wheaton Aston and in the village hall. Refreshments from LSWA PC (free while available!) in the village hall , live music and Punch and Judy show 2pm-5pm. The Big Coronation Lunch will be held outside St Mary’s Church, bring your own food/drink and chairs. Rev’d Dale will be hosting Coronation crafts inside the church

Wheaton Aston Scout Group will be providing a BBQ at the rear of the Coach and Horses 2-5pm, all funds raised go to the scout group
